About the Journal

World Journal of Development Economics (WJDE) publishes theoretical and empirical research that advances understanding of development processes across diverse institutional, geographic, and cultural contexts. Its scope includes short- and long-run growth dynamics; multidimensional poverty; inequality in income, wealth, and opportunity; employment and labor markets; productivity and structural transformation; international trade and regional integration; public finance and fiscal decentralization; governance and institutional quality; innovation and technology diffusion; the digital economy and financial inclusion; health and education economics; urbanization and migration; food-system resilience; and the green transition and climate resilience. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary studies that integrate economics with political science, sociology, geography, demography, environmental science, data science, and public policy, provided they contribute substantively to the sustainable development agenda in low-, middle-, and high-income countries.

World Journal of Development Economics (WJDE) is published twice a year, in the May edition and the September edition.
